At HDI Lucas, a subsidiary of Spiecapag Australia and sister company of Horizontal Drilling International (HDI) in France, we specialise in the trenchless installation of pipelines, cables and conduits under natural or artificial obstacles.
We operate to international standards, have drilled over 2,000 holes and completed over 2 million metres of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) over the years, leading the sector by establishing many of the major industry milestones and constantly redefining the limits of HDD.

HDI Lucas and Spiecapag Australia workforce currently totals more than 700 staff, across two offices in Brisbane (headquarters) and Perth, and 3 different active projects.

- Kurri Kurri Lateral Gas Pipeline & Storage (Kurri Kurri, NSW).
- Jansz-Io Compression Project (Barrow Island, WA).

Green Moves at Wellcamp: Driving Sustainability Forward
Spiecapag Australia is proud to be taking meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future, aligning with VINCI’s global environmental goals and reducing our operational carbon footprint. Following the installation of solar panels in 2023, our Wellcamp Workshop and Yard are now equipped with new electric and hybrid vehicles powered by solar energy produced on site, lowering our CO₂ emissions and eliminating diesel particulates – and the associated health hazard all at once!

Team spirit, purpose, and community impact are at the heart of life at Spiecapag. Our recent participation in the Brisbane Marathon Festival showcased just that, as our team came together to support the Indigenous Marathon Foundation and raise over $25,000 for First Nations youth programs.

Spiecapag announces new Employee Benefits: Group Life Insurance

We are proud to announce that SCA has successfully obtained accreditation from the Australian Government’s Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC). Introducing Spiecapag’s Chat Laps
Chat laps are short 20 to 30 min walking meetings designed to incorporate wellness into our workday. It is simple! Instead of gathering in a meeting room, staff members are invited to meet their colleague(s) for an informal walking meeting nearby the office. They are many benefits of taking a Chat Lap? It enhances physical health & fitness, reduces stress and improves mood, revigorates and improves concentration, boosts creativity and productivity, and fosters team bonding and collaboration!

Spiecapag wins Best Fundraising Team at the Brisbane Marathon Festival!
Thanks to our volunteers, the Spiecapag team collectively walked or ran 223.4km and raised $22,544 for the Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF) as part of the 2024 Brisbane Marathon Festival! Kurri Kurri Project team concludes its ‘Start Right’ campaign
On September 14th, the Start Right campaign undertaken by the Kurri Kurri Project team came to a close. This initiative was designed to align the values and expectations of both SCA and its client, right from the project’s inception, to create a collaborative and cohesive team. As part of this campaign, a community-centric team-building exercise was organised at OzHarvest in Newcastle.
